Cancellation

If an agreed booking needs to change or you want to cancel, please tell us as soon as you can.

How to cancel or request a change

Email hello@doneproperlyhomeservices.co.uk with a clear statement that you want to cancel or change the booking. Include your quote reference if you have it. You do not have to use the example form below. Sending a new quote request does not cancel an existing booking.

Statutory cancellation rights

For a qualifying distance or off-premises service contract, you normally have until the end of 14 days after the day the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason. An email or any other clear statement of your decision is enough. A quote request is only an enquiry, not a contract. These rights do not apply in the same way to every job, and nothing here reduces your statutory rights.

Starting work during a cancellation period

If you want us to start during an applicable cancellation period, we need your separate express request before work begins. For an off-premises contract, that request must be on a durable medium, such as email. We will also ask you to acknowledge that you will lose the right to cancel once the agreed service has been fully performed. You may still cancel before full performance.

If you validly cancel after requesting an early start, a proportionate amount for service already supplied may be due only where the law permits it and the required cancellation and payment information was provided. No service cost is due for that period if the required information was not provided or you did not make the express request. Without the required request, we will arrange qualifying work after the applicable cancellation period.

Model cancellation form

You may use the following wording if you wish to cancel a contract. You do not have to use this form; a clear email is enough. We will provide the completed form and required cancellation information before you agree to qualifying work.

To: Done Properly Home Services, 12 Brinkhill Walk, Corby, NN18 9HG; email hello@doneproperlyhomeservices.co.uk

I give notice that I cancel my contract for the following service: [describe the agreed work].

Date agreed: [date]. Customer name and address: [your details]. Date of cancellation: [date]. Sign only if sending this form on paper.

Potential costs and your rights

If work has not started and no materials were bought specifically for the agreed job, no cancellation charge is intended. Outside an applicable statutory right to cancel, genuinely reasonable and unrecoverable costs of materials bought specifically for agreed work may be considered, but no charge is automatic. Where work has started outside that statutory situation, only reasonable costs for agreed work already done may be considered. Statutory cancellation rights take priority.
